Earth and the Measure of All Things

It doesn’t seem possible to dwell upon the Earth without doing some damage, without, at least, the Earth needing to adapt to our presence as much as we must adapt to her. Yet this reality cannot justify the rapid exploitation and depletion of her resources, nor the destruction we are causing her today. To be fully human is to recognize we are the Earth—humus—and to harm our Great Mother is to harm ourselves.
