Mid-City Senior Center/Meals on Wheels

Since 1967 Mid-City Senior Center has provided a nutritional and social lifeline for seniors through their downtown meal site in Spokane as well as Meals on Wheels delivery to elderly, disabled home bound seniors. Pre-COVID, the center was open five days a week and provided a warm, inviting, and safe atmosphere for men and women who are predominantly living alone.

They are eagerly working toward re-opening their in-person meal service. They have also just embarked on a big project to update their kitchen with new equipment that will allow them to prepare all their Meals on Wheels meals on site. This will create a more centralized supply chain and improve the quality and freshness of their food. In 2020 they served over 182,000 meals to 500 seniors. Their goal this year is to feed an additional 10,000 meals to home bound seniors in our community.
