It was so much fun to have singing groups in December!!! I was hopeful we could keep it going in January and into the spring. But, of course, omicron was on us even before all our group rehearsals were over in December. So we are still in the doldrums as far as our Mixed Choir is concerned, which is very disheartening to me. As you probably know, omicron has not yet peaked in Spokane, so we would be taking risks with our singers’ health by moving ahead right now.

I would, however, very much like to have a small group sing for our Partner Church Sunday on March 6 and I am carefully tiptoeing in that direction.

This could consist of three or four people who are fully vaccinated and feel they are able to sing together safely. They would need to feel confident about singing their part by themselves.

I will be using fairly familiar pieces, so these singers can practice at home at first by singing with mp3 recordings of their parts. Then, hopefully by mid-February, we would dare rehearsing in person!

Thanks for your patience with putting back together our choral program.

I am eager to do it—and the road is still full of pitfalls and peril at this point.
