Remembering Ranger: NASA’s First Moonshot

Friday, May 20, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at UUCS

“Before the first man could make one giant leap, the first lunar photographers would lead the way.”

One of those photographers was UUCS church member Don Willingham, a Project Ranger engineer at Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) during the early years of NASA’s space program. Remembering Ranger is the story of this nearly forgotten but crucial effort in the space race to the Moon as recalled by Willingham and his former colleague, Tom Rindfleisch. Produced by our own minister, Todd Eklof, a former professional video producer, Remembering Ranger recalls the sometimes edge-of-your-seat adventure of humanity’s first successful mission to the moon. Please join us at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane Friday, May 20, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. for a reception and screening of this informative half-hour documentary, followed by a question and answer session with Willingham and Eklof.
