Spokane Alliance (Formerly the Core) Team

Our Mission:  The mission of the UUCS core team is to strengthen the UUCS community by supporting the Spokane Alliance in promoting social justice, developing community leaders and by encouraging a relational culture within our congregation.  Some of the ways the core team will carry out this mission are by encouraging congregants to attend leadership training, informing congregants about public meetings, hearings and other gathering that promote a stronger, more just community.  As well as promoting a greater understanding of the work of the Spokane Alliance.

If you would like to join us, please contact Mary Lou Johnson, Lannie MacAndrea or Jerry White. We try to recruit new members who are interested in Social Justice Issues.

Partner Church Team

Our Mission: Our mission is to foster our relationship with our partner church in Felsőrákos, Romania through communication, education and support.

If you would like to join us, please contact any team member or the Communications Manager in the office or just attend a meeting.  Meetings are listed on the church calendar, usually on the first or second Thursday of the month.  We usually don’t meet in the summer.

Our Mission: The PRIDE Team serves as a resource for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transsexual, Questioning (LGBTQ) people and their allies in our church and in the larger Spokane community.

If you would like to join us, this team is in need of a team leader as well as more members, please contact the Administrative Office or Peggy Eklof, if you are willing to take this on.

Social Justice Coordinating Council

Our Mission: A Safer Spokane. Oil trains are endangering our lives and drinking water. Coal trains are spreading dust and rocks on private property. The Safer Spokane Campaign is an initiative for the people of Spokane. We are working to get enough signatures to put it on the ballot for the next City of Spokane election. This is a beginning! Only signatures of registered voters living in Spokane will count toward the required number to put it on the ballot. Once this is passed in Spokane, the idea can spread to other municipalities.

If you would like to join us, please attend our monthly meetings to see if it is right for you! The meetings will be listed in the SUUN and on our church calendar.  You can also contact co-chairs, Peggy Eklof and Pam Davies for more information.

Our Mission: Our mission is to produce the Monthly SUUN newsletter

If you would like to join us:  Submitting articles allows for participation, but not membership.

Meals on Wheels

Our Mission:  Deliver Meals on Wheels every Tuesday.

If you would like to join us, we are always accepting volunteers to help, please contact Judy Gammon at (509) 363-0535.
