A Life of Wild and Creative Generosity of Spirit

Humans originally learned how to live and love together, like other apes, by grooming in pairs. The sparks of generosity were fanned by the intimacy of friendship and partnership. But one magical day, a child began dancing, a grandparent began drumming, and everyone joined in. We learned how to harmonize our nervous systems, our dreams, and our work beyond one-on-one relationships. We began moving in concert. But evolution is a process, and we still have a ways to go before we realize the promises of collective action. How do we bring our innate generosity into the light of community, and nourish it for the good of the congregation and beyond?
