Guest Speaker: Emotional Intelligence: Stories from Studying a Different Kind of ‘Smart’

Join Guest Speaker Rachelle Strawther: When I was first introduced to the concept of emotional intelligence – the ability to recognize and manage one’s emotions, and recognize the emotions of others – I came to a humbling realization: many of the challenges I faced in my adult life were due to my emotional immaturity. My journey to develop my own emotional intelligence, and to help others do the same, has been informed by one-on-one conversations with organizational leaders, classroom discussions, and, more recently, my doctoral work focusing on emotional intelligence development in college students. Join me as I share stories and reflections on the power of this different notion of intelligence, and how we can each further develop our own.
