Just you\, your book\, and a room full of fellow readers doing the same. \nAfterward\, we spend a little time sharing what we’re reading\, what we hope to read next\, or how we’re building a reading life that nourishes us. There’s a monthly reading prompt for inspiration\, but participation is entirely optional. \nAll are welcome (as long as a 30-minute attention span is doable!). Everyone reads whatever they want. Join us as we celebrate our very own resident poet\, Lisa Conger\, and the release of her beautiful new poetry collection\, Paper Boat. \nLisa will be giving a reading from her book\, sharing the stories and inspirations behind her poems\, and signing copies afterward. Paper Boat will be available for purchase for $20\, and in true Lisa fashion\, a portion of each sale will be generously donated back to the church. It’s a lovely opportunity to support a gifted UUCS artist and the mission of our community. \nAnd since it all falls on the same day as our Annual Cookie Sale\, you can pick up a plate (or two!) of holiday treats and then head into the Chapel for poetry\, warmth\, and connection. \nCome for the cookies\, stay for the poetry — or come for the poetry\, stay for the cookies!\nEither way\, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating Lisa and supporting UUCS.
