Our August special collection is for The Carl Maxey Center.
The Carl Maxey Center Board of Directors is transforming a neglected 1920s building into an African American focused Cultural Center that will be a gathering place for the community, as well as a business and technical hub for the East Central neighborhood.
The Carl Maxey Center is a Washington State non-profit, 501(c)(3)3 organization, that was originally formed in 2017 and is based in Spokane. The Center is in the process of transforming a neglected 1920’s building into an African American focused Cultural Center that will be a gathering place for the community as well as a business and technical hub for the East Central
neighborhood.
This will be done by supporting and sustaining the work and programs of the Carl Maxey Center to address four focus areas:
- (a) Racial & Social justice and Equity;
- (b) Business & Workforce Development;
- (c) Education & Advocacy; and
- (d) Cultural Enrichment.
If either of this ministry speaks to you, we invite you to give generously.
You can mail a check to the church (4340 West Whistalks Way, Spokane, WA 99224) or donate online. Be sure to note in the memo section that your contribution is for the August 15, 2021 special collection.
