The month of December was a bit snowy. Not literally, because the snow was gone by Christmas Eve, there was a lot to do. Advent Sundays was very beautiful. In the first, we volunteered at a homeless hostel in one of the nearby towns, in the second we lit outdoor Advent candles in the town of Barót. On the third, we baked gingerbread with the women. And before Christmas, we bought 120 stainless steel glasses to keep the Lord’s supper safe and environmentally conscious for everyone. We were a little tired of the many programs.
Christmas was muddy, there was no snow. But Christmas was beautiful. And at Christmas second day we chanted with the young people. It was an old custom to greet each other by singing at Christmas.
I took over the scholarship today, sometime in January, when it will be handed out to young people as well. And I’m going to volunteer in the village tomorrow. Thanks to the Red Cross, we received 25 packages, which we distribute to families in difficult circumstances. The day before yesterday, the mayor and I visited the oldest member of the village, János Szász, who is 95 years old.
I think sometime in January we’re going to go some rest, there was a lot to do in December, but you know I’m sending pictures of it all! 🙂
We think of you with love, we wish you a happy new year, success, health, love to everyone! God bless you!
Zalán and Orsolya
Addendum from Julie Jose: Zalán & Orsi went to their home town in January for a little rest, and the tile heating stove exploded. They spent the time getting it repaired and repainting the room! No one hurt, thank goodness.
