Well, finally we can move in a positive direction regarding our beloved Mixed Choir! This coming Sunday you will get to hear most of our former choir singing some familiar Transylvanian hymns for our Partner Church services. And we do have three new people! Julia Singer is a soprano, Kate Stigdon is an alto and Will Petro is a bass/baritone! We are excited and grateful to have all three!
It is good to be back into rehearsals with our singers, even though we still need to be cautious with our singing practices. COVID-19 stats are better, but we need to be aware and take care. All singers are vaccinated and boosted, of course. There is also a strict rule that if anyone is feeling even a little bit unwell, it is imperative that they not sing with the group! We have decided to sing distanced and with masks off this coming Sunday. While not singing during the service, all will be masked.
Of course, the Choir will be working to get back up to speed with their singing over the next couple of months. It will be just under two years since that group sang for all of you — March 8, 2020! And they are not the only ones that need to shake the rust out … I, also, am in need of polishing up my skills in the directing arena, although it sure is a lot of fun to jump into this work once again!
So give us some leeway to get going once again — we might not be able to be into a full schedule immediately. And let us know how we are doing — we love to have your feedback!
See many of you this coming Sunday!!
