The choir and I will be having a lot of fun for our Easter services this week! We’ll start with a prelude in place of our usual starting song, as we have been working on a beautiful version of Morning Has Broken that seemed like the perfect opener for the day. We’ll be doing a version of Ella Fitzgerald’s A-Tisket-A-Tasket right before the sermon. And I’m sure you’ll also love hearing Tip Toe through the Tulips from our pianist, Maura, for the offertory. Our congregational sings for the day will be a couple of Easter songs from back a ways — Peter Cottontail and Easter Parade. So come and have some secular Easter fun this coming Sunday. You could even wear your new spring outfit!
It has been gratifying to hear from so many of you about your excitement in having the choir back. We will continue to sing through May at least. I am hoping to do a women’s choir for Mother’s Day on May 8 and have the full choir sing for May 22, when Jerry White will be speaking as the Spokane Riverkeeper. In previous years the choir usually takes a break through the summer months, but I am hoping to persuade most of the group to continue singing for a while, given our long two-year COVID absence. We’ll see if summer vacations and other trips make that possible.
