Streaming UUCS services has been a blessing to local, national and international members and friends. However, COVID-19 has taught us the importance of and ease of communicating with each other across distances. Unfortunately, streaming is inherently one-way and in response, beginning Sept 5 we will be adding a Zoom feed to the video stream so that online participants can communicate with each other during and after the service with friends in Spokane.
We are recruiting volunteer hosts for online and at the Church.
- Online volunteer hosts (two per service) serve as welcoming hosts and technical support for those attending online. They manage break out “coffee rooms” after the service and generally demonstrate the western welcome that visitors can expect in Spokane — even online! Likely most of these volunteer hosts will participate from online locations anywhere.
- The onsite host manages a Zoom connection and display on a large monitor in the Fellowship Area. This allows online participants after and before the service to communicate with those attending or leading the service at the Church.
Training will be provided for host roles. We are planning to run a test during the Aug 28 service. If you are willing to help with this exciting opportunity for yourself, for UUCS and for our national and international Unitarian friends, please email Terry Anderson at terrydanderson2@gmail.com.
