This coming Sunday, October 9, the Mixed Choir will be singing the poetry of two great internationally known poets, Rabindranath Tagore and Jalal al-Din Muhammad Rumi.
Tagore (1861 – 1941) was a polymath who worked as a poet, novelist, playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer and painter. The Choir will be singing his music and his poem, There Are Numerous Strings.
Rumi (1207 – 1273) was a Persian poet, Islamic scholar, Maturidi theologian and Sufi mystic. He is greatly appreciated for his spiritual legacy over the past seven centuries and is currently considered the best selling poet in the USA! The Choir will be singing his poem, Come, Come, Whoever You Are.
We will be “zooming in” our guest speaker, Rev. Craig Moro! This should be an interesting service—I’m hoping to see you there.
