We are all becoming increasingly concerned about climate change. To help us understand and develop meaningful responses to this crisis, we are hosting two evening video/discussion groups. The UUCS Sunday zoom group hosts these events and all are welcomed. We hope these sessions allows us to get to know other UUCS members, integrate and build our community. The sessions focus on videos by UU Minister Michael Dowd.
Description: In this time of increasing environmental challenges, how should we choose to live responsibly as an individual and as a community? What does the word “sustainable” really mean? What is the difference between a “dilemma” and a “predicament?” What does it mean to have a biocentric relationship with the earth versus an anthropocentric relationship?
These and other questions will be explored and discussed over two afternoons. In this two-part illustrated, information packed video presentation by Reverend Michael Dowd we will address these questions as we watch three separate videos together as a group, live on zoom, and discuss the challenges presented. We will discuss what our moral responsibility to the natural world might be, based on the information presented.
