Meaningful Movies Spokane with UUCS invites you to join us at the church as we watch two impactful documentaries.
American Hospitals: Healing a Broken System is a new movie revealing the cost and inequities of American hospitals, often more motivated by money and power than in providing for the health care needs of individuals and the communities they were founded to serve.
Fix It: Health Care at the Tipping Point takes a hard look at how our dysfunctional health care system is damaging our economy, suffocating our businesses, discouraging physicians, and negatively impacting on the nation’s health, while remaining un-affordable for a third of our citizens.
Total time for the two films is an hour and a half. Afterwards, discussion will be facilitated by Cris Currie, a retired nurse who worked in the hospital system and in home health care before retiring in 2015. He is a passionate advocate for single payor national health insurance, and has written numerous single-payor policy papers as well as an interactive eBook called A Medicare for All Q&A which is available free at https://www.hcfawa.org/.
Please join us in person at UUCS on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as we explore this important and timely topic. Admission is free. Any donations will be used for the rights to show films publicly and are therefore highly encouraged and gladly accepted.
