Parking at Pride

Before you park at Riverfront Park this Saturday, June 14, 2025 for Pride and/or the No Kings Protest, please consider the following:

There are about 1,000 to 2,000 activists are engaged in the Spokane area. We are hoping for 5000 plus maybe even 7000 or more. Where are they going to park? I feel that we as activists, people who believe we must be engaged in this resistance, need to help the other 3000 plus get to the March-Protest on Saturday. That means we have the capacity to help those people park. Not drive around for hours and give up and go home. We can potentially provide 1,000s of parking spots. Ride share or take the bus.

Ride Share

This does not mean someone has to drive around to each home and pick people up. Go to a pre-arranged location: shopping mall, park, neighborhood that is at least 2 miles away. Think about how much hassle and frustration you are going to save, park at Safeway or whatever and get picked up, by the group driver. You may have just supplied 5 or 6 people with a place to park.

The Bus

Catch the bus 2 miles from Riverfront. Park off of a street that has a bus that goes straight to downtown. Bus fare is $2. To find the right us for you, call the RTA (509-456-7277, as soon as the recording starts, press 0, then press 3). They will walk you through how to pay and help you locate where to catch the bus no matter where your starting point is. You will speak to a very nice person, who will be very glad to help you and answer any questions, they are great. If you have not taken the bus before, tell them. It is their job to make it as easy as possible.

Park and Ride Examples

  • Go to Perry District South Hill Park and Ride. Catch bus number 45, which leaves 13 minutes after the hour every hour on Saturdays. It will take 17 minutes on the bus. Get off 3 blocks from Riverside Park.
  • Go to Washington Trust Bank at Indiana and Division. Catch the 25 bus going South on Division, which leaves at 7 and 37 after the hour. Get off at the Red Wagon.

There are bijillians of possibilities. Give a newbie activist, a helping hand. Feel free to call me, I will help you in any way I can, I am on the bus alot, and I will help organize ride shares too, if you like.

See you Saturday. YAY!! And it is gonna be in the high 70s perfect weather. SPOKANE STANDS UP!

Questions? Call Lani Prell at 509-558-9357. Feel free to Lani, she will help you in any way she can. She rides the bus a lot. She is also happy to help organize ride shares too if you like.
