Join us as we thoughtfully commemorate the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japan which occurred on August 6, 1945, and August 9, 1948, respectively, 80 years ago this year. Those bombings were the first time (and hopefully the last) that atomic bombs were used in war.
Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shadle Park Library
Hiroshima will be remembered by the story hour reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. The reading will be followed by folding your own paper cranes, just as Sadako did. The whole event is about 2 hours 30 minutes long.
