Greetings to everyone,

I am writing this in hope of having a regular monthly Wheel of Life about our members and friends, joys and sorrows. How each of us contribute to our church community and volunteer and live our daily lives. I believe it is an important time to reach out to each other with caring support and in celebration of the joys that we experience.

In mid-July Devon Greyerbiehl and Shirley Cannon moved to Riverview Retirement Community assisted living. They are doing well and would enjoy hearing from friends. Their new address is 1801 East Upriver Drive, Room 346, Spokane, WA 99207. You can call Riverview and ask to speak to them.

I would like to recognize Judy Gammon for organizing our church’s contribution to monthly delivering Meals on Wheels. Judy has organized a group of twelve church members for years to make sure folks in need of meals are not forgotten. Each summer Dick and Judy honor the members of this group with a gathering at their home over good food and conversation. Many thanks Judy!

In memory:

Church member Don Willingham’s twin brother David recently passed away. Please hold Don in your caring thoughts.

Arthur (Art) Harlow died July 17, 2025 at age 90, at home with his family. Art and his wife Mary Giannini met at the UU Church of Spokane and were married almost 32 years. There won’t be a memorial service, but a celebration of life with ice cream will be held at their home on September 25, 2025 in the late afternoon. More details will follow. 

Long time member and friend Gordon Larson passed on June 14. Gordon was part of the team that built the Transylvanian gate in our memorial garden. He will be missed by many. A memorial will be held at our church on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
