Let’s Tell Stories (kʷu ksčaptíkʷlaʔx) – Salish School Spokane
Čaptíkʷɬ are the literature, law, and scripture of Southern Interior Salish culture, and winter is an important time to share čaptíkʷɬ. Traditionally, in the wintertime, people were gathered together in their permanent homes after a long season of managing and harvesting their root, fish, berry and game resources throughout their territory. The short days and long nights of winter provided opportunity for teaching and entertaining with čaptíkʷɬ, our traditional stories.
Salish School of Spokane presents an evening of Southern Interior Salish storytelling. We will share our čaptíkʷɬ, traditional creation and Coyote stories, through both traditional and modern means. Stories will be shared in n̓səl̓xčin̓ (Colville Salish) with interpretation to English. All are welcome with complimentary ticketing.
Seating is limited. Please reserve a seat and free ticket here.
