As we celebrate Pride Week, including all that we have accomplished over the years on behalf of those in the LGBT community, it seems a good occasion to consider the changing attitudes toward equality itself. Some are now emphasizing equity more than equality. Some on the Left have even come to disparage and disregard equality in favor of equity. In this sermon we’ll consider the meaning of both equality and equity, along with their value, and make the case that equality should remain a priority in our social justice work.
