Forever Home for American Indian Community Center: The Hope for a Permanent Facility

In this guest presentation, Linda Lauch, the executive director of the American Indian Cultural Center, Karen Stratton, the AICC’s capital campaign manager, and Stephanie Sijohn, the special projects coordinator, will present the history of the American Indian Community Center in Spokane and discuss their efforts to build a permanent facility near the confluence of the Latah Creek and Spokane River, where tribes historically gathered for trade and community. AICC was founded in 1967 as a gathering place for urban Indians. It provides comprehensive social, educational, and economic services for all racial groups in Spokane. The special collection this month will benefit the AICC’s fundraising efforts to build its new home.
