Public historian Logan Camporeale will tell the dramatic story of how he discovered Spokane’s “redlining” covenants, which barred non-whites from living in many Spokane neighborhoods; and still remain on the deeds of many mid-century properties although they are no longer legal. He will address who was responsible for creating the covenants and the collaborative work that is necessary to remove them.
Camporeale earned his M.A. in history from Eastern Washington University and works as a Historic Preservation Specialist for the Spokane City/County Historic Preservation Office.
