The struggle against racism in the 21st century and the anti-democratic fallacy of the neoracist Proposed 8th Principle Movement
Special Guest: Rev. Dr. Finley C. Campbell
Rev. Dr. Campbell is the founder of UUMUAC (Unitarian Universalist Multiracial Unity Action Committee). He is a Black Baptist minister and longtime UU who is a near-contemporary of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He has seen first-hand which tactics work to reduce racism and which do not:
“UUMUAC exists to fight racism by fostering multiracial unity. We are committed to the Seven Principles of Unitarian Universalism as the only tools required for this work. To our dismay, a controlling majority of national Unitarian Universalist (UU) officials—in the UUA, the UU Ministers Association, and both UU seminaries—are promoting a different approach to fighting racism, using the slogan ‘Dismantle our white supremacy culture.’ While the officials claim their approach will reduce racism, we are convinced that it can only make racism worse.”
