With the unprecedented advancement of AI and its influence on society, including the arts, we are challenged to ask deeper questions about the value of human creativity and what the future holds. In this guest presentation, Madeline McNeill will explore the philosophical history of the mind-body split that led to the “computer brain” model of the mind and compare it to emerging scholarship in embodied cognition, which posits that the mind is an embodied process. From this analysis, Madeline will share her thoughts on the way forward to cultivate human creativity alongside technology.
