The “Rapture” is a belief of among Christians that Jesus will return someday to snatch up all his true believers in “the blink of an eye,” leaving everyone else to suffer what is to become Hell on Earth. Surely this will never happen, but the idea of the Rapture can prove a useful metaphor in real life, especially when we find ourselves resistant to the rapid and inevitable changes happening around us.
