UUCS member guest speaker, Jacob Johns, will share with us his personal insights into the connections that unite us all, drawing on traditional teachings from his Native American heritage. Jacob grew up near Mesa, Arizona, a member of the Akimel O’Odham and Hopi nations. Since coming to Spokane in 2010, he has established himself as a freelance artist and advocate for projects that work to heal and unify society. He organized a local remembrance of the 1890 massacre at Wounded Knee last December, in advance of which he lived for four days in a tipi in our courtyard. Jacob has been a member of our church since November, 2010.
