Many people wonder how Unitarianism can be called a religion since it doesn’t hold a common belief about God. Many Unitarians are themselves put off by the term “religion,” which is understandable given all its baggage (i.e., intolerance, magical thinking, authoritarianism, etc., etc.). In this sermon we’ll consider the meaning of the word “religion” and why it remains the best term to describe Unitarianism.
