First of all I want to respond to Dorothy Mehl and others who wanted the lyrics from Path of Peace, which I sang on Sunday, October 3:

Let us see the holy presence in those we call our enemies.
Let us see divine and perfect love shining in their hearts.
If we see this vision clearly, then the shadows will be transformed.
We will see the light within, and our fellowship will be reborn.

Second, I’d like to start a conversation with all of you about our hymns and the use of others songs to sing in our services. I have noticed that it gets harder and harder to find relevant songs in our hymnals to complement Todd’s sermons—especially songs that are actually interesting to sing! Oh, I know we have our favorites—things like Blue Boat Home, Spirit of Life, Come, Sing a Song with Me, and Gather the Spirit. I’m not suggestion we let those go—but I need feedback from you to know where we stand as a group on both “oldies & goodies” and new possibilities!

Last Sunday we used Paul McCartney’s Blackbird as our closing song—a potential new song for us to incorporate into our services. And I would like to know just how that was for you, so please give me feedback on that and the two “oldies” we used, O I Woke Up This Morning and Gift to Be Simple.

I would actually appreciate feedback on our hymn/songs for a couple of months! So let me know what you already like and how you feel about any secular songs we might use from time to time.
