Last month, the International Panel on Climate Change, a UN backed group of independent researchers released a report on the state of climate change that indicated that many critical tipping points have now already occurred. The report confirmed that humanity is pummeling towards, and almost certainly beyond, the Paris Agreement target of limiting climate change to 1.5c degrees in order to avoid the most disastrous effects of the climate crisis. We are already at 1.2 degrees and are well on track (ten years sooner than the last IPCC report) on track to hit 1.5 degrees celsius by 2035. After the report’s release, the United Nations Chief responded, calling the document “a CODE RED for humanity.”
The Conference of the Parties is the platform for which the United Nations brings countries to negotiate their role in climate accords and others to stay below 1.5 degrees celsius. There will be representatives from indigenous groups from across the world using the platform to provide opportunities to engage in conversation, deepen collective consciousness, and document lessons necessary to expand current ways people are winning the fights.
I am headed to Glasgow, Scotland for the UNCOP26 to participate in the UNCOP. The delegation will be having ongoing conversations with the negotiating team as they speak for the United States. During that time we will be gathering interviews from official representatives and presenters attending from civil society.
Historically the global north has been responsible for the majority of the global carbon emissions. Now at the point of crisis, it is our duty to own our history and move forward consciously. Just like as we saw under the Trump administration with the withdrawal from the Paris accords, the government does not always represent the people. 227 climate activists were killed globally last year alone. It is vital for us to uplift the voices of those front line water land and air protectors before it’s\ too late.
What are the messages that need to be shared about global awareness and the unification of humanity for our future?
The combined messages will be compiled into a series of videos. Along with daily videos on social media and being coordinated on multiple networks internationally . We will also be putting forth a Spanish version. You can follow on

The series will consist of testimony and information from around the world brought forth by communities that are continuing to protect all that is left of the natural world. This series will highlight indigenous knowledge while amplifying it and connecting wins. Ending the trend of ignoring indigenous leadership across the globe.
This will intentionally create the base of network structure that will emerge out of these connections. This effort to connect communities globally through grassroots perspective is a continuation of the work I presented at the last UNCOP in Madrid. The end goal is to provide how we have surpassed the concept of separation in the issues happening globally.
At the previous UNCOP I gave a presentation of how we are all connected, that we are an extension of the planetary consciousness- this is that concept being brought into real time and in real tangible ways.
