John sang in the First Unitarian Portland church choir for five years. He’s currently writing his second science-fiction book. John lives in Vancouver, WA where he gets the misty rain that fuels his creativity. He’s thankful that they all live in Washington State.

John’s learning acoustic guitar. He enjoys creative writing, raising his golden retriever puppy Argos, and transforming his backyard into an edible landscape for humans and birds. He’s a member of the UU Vancouver book group and regularly attends the Thoreau UU Adult Discussion Group in Sugar Land, Texas, where his parents live.

John’s daughter spoke glowingly about UU Spokane where she looks forward to having her daughter Olive attend and enroll in the OWL program when she’s older. This led him to read and watch Rev. Todd Eklof’s sermons. His words resonated with John, especially around the seven principles, Universalist ideals, and what it means to be a part of a Liberal Democracy where we all do our part to make our society and world a better place to live. Once he read Todd’s books, he felt called to action to join and support UU Church of Spokane.

John’s grown children include Sara Stolle, Alexander Veneruso, and Bryan Veneruso. His baby granddaughter is Olive Stolle. His partner is April Caron-Smith.
