Facilitators are Ibrahim Ashrawi and Dana Fisher Ashwari. Ibrahim is a Palestinian humanist of Christian heritage, born in Jerusalem to parents who were forced to become refugees during the 1948 Nakba (Catastrophe). In the late 1960s, he co-founded a rock band and a theater troupe, the precursor to the Palestinian National Theatre. In Houston, he was co-founder of the Palestinian-American Cultural Center.
Dana Fisher Ashrawi, M.Ed., is President of UUs for Justice in the Middle East and a member of the board of the Arab-American Educational Foundation.
Dana and Ibrahim are active in education and advocacy around Palestinian and Arab rights, history, and culture.
