Here is the latest letter from the minister in Felsőrákos, Romania. It has been edited it slightly for clarity. Rev. Kerekes began her ministry in March of 2023.

Thu, Sep 14

Dear Julie and Jerry,

Sorry for the delay in replying, but we have been very busy lately. Zador is making good progress, trying lots of things, especially sitting. And I have also started university. I am now in my second year at the University of Pastoral Care. It’s a bit difficult with Zador, mainly because he nurses. And of course there’s plenty to do at church. In the meantime we’re preparing for the baptism. In answer to your questions, Mónika is my first name, Gáspár is my maiden name and Kerekes after my husband. My husband is Szabolcs Kerekes, and he uses Szabolcs. And I use Mónika. We think about you a lot, the congregation is also interested when you come to visit. It would be nice to talk in some form, we used Zoom a lot, especially during the COVID period. Do you happen to know it? It would be good if we could make an appointment next week to talk.

Regarding Julie Jose’s question about continuing the scholarship program

Andorkó Ágota, Ferencz Timea and Pető Árpád ( Elemér’s younger son). From the old-timers, Zoltán Pap, Pap Timea are still in university. We would definitely like to continue this program, as your support helps our young people a lot.

With love,
Mónika, Szabolcs & Zádor.
Isten áldjon!

Julie Jose hopes to Zoom with Mónika, the new pastor, in the next week or so. She believe the first three names are new students, so we are looking for new sponsors for them at $300/year. If you would like to sponsor a student, please contact Julie Jose at josejj205@yahoo.com.
