The Meaningful Movies Project, headquartered in Seattle, is presenting, along with Democracy First, a networkwide free online screening of the thought-provoking documentary, John Lewis: Good Trouble.
The film provides an intimate glimpse into the life and enduring legacy of legendary U.S. Representative John Lewis. It begins when Lewis, as a bold teenager, makes a courageous plea to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for assistance integrating a segregated school in his hometown of Troy, Alabama, cementing the two men’s close bond. From organizing Freedom Rides to historic marches in Washington and Selma, Lewis displayed resilience and determination, championing the spirit of “good trouble,” inspiring fellow Americans always to confront injustice.
