Long time member Millie Roberts recently married Bill Perdue. Bill and Millie graduated from Highland High School in Cowiche, WA, and WSU. Bill has traveled the world negotiating contracts for Boeing, was a major shareholder in a national aviation insurance company, and served as its president for nine years. In 1980, he established his own company, Sonico Inc., which specializes in repair of airline parts, located in Moses Lake, WA. Bill loves history and writing, and is a Civil War history buff. He currently has a book at the publishers about the history of the Tieton-Cowiche area, where he grew up. Let us all wish them great happiness next time you see them.
Cassidy Eklof (Rev Todd’s daughter) had recent hip surgery and Todd says she is recovering nicely. Being young and healthy will speed that along.
And, on a sad note, Todd shared that he had to put down his and Peggy’s beloved dog, Chester, recently. We have heard about, and maybe even met Chester over the years and know this was a tender loss.
How about the next time you see Michele Attwood and Lynn Diddons extend a thank you to them for hosting our potlucks at church. They have volunteered to organize, serve and clean up for this event on the third Sunday of the month. This time together after our service builds community and camaraderie. By the way, they are taking a break during the summer and will resume potlucks again in September.
Mike Petro, son of Angie Dierdorff, and grandson of Sue Wotring, graduated May 9, 2026, from WSU with a BA in Humanities. Mike was also a varsity rower. He spent many years in the UUCS Religious Education program. He gets to spend his summer in northern California working at a golf course. Congratulations Mike!
Jane Bowen, a long time member of our church, has moved from Rockwood South Hill to a care facility in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Jane will be closer to one of her daughters for easier visits. Also, Jane will be 100 on her next birthday!
I hope you enjoy hearing about our church friends and extent a thank you, a hug or well done! the next time you see them.
I also encourage you to attend the annual church meeting on June 14, 2026, after the second service. A lunch will be provided, you will learn all you want to know about church teams, church budgeting and vote on proposed changes. (You must be a member for at least 90 days to vote).
