Chilling Challenge

We just wrapped up our yearly pledge funding campaign and with all the generous member support, we can continue to keep our church financially healthy. Thank you to all those able to continue or begin yearly pledge donations!

Overall, Church funds are still extremely tight though, as total pledges for the 2026–2027 year came under the desired targeted goal. We are surviving, but there is still much work to be done and funding needed to finish it.

In the past 6 months we have had unplanned fixes we had to address; from a broken water line to replacing wiring in the crawl space above the lady’s room (mouse chewed), as well as updating our fire alarm equipment.

I’m sure the current state of our economy has us all watching our wallets. Encountering trying financial times in the past and unexpected financial needs for our own homes and family needs, as well as of our community, hits us all.

That said, I stand here to share that our 20 plus year old commercial refrigerator in our kitchen is no longer chilling as it is supposed to do. Energy efficient it is not, and not being able to keep food cold safely has raised concerns that we are in need to replace the refrigerator as soon as we can. At this point, our current commercial refrigerator costs more to fix and repair than to replace. This also negatively impacts our ability to rent this space as a commercial kitchen which in turn helps bring in more income for our church.

As a member of the operations team, I am here to share this current fundraising challenge—“a chilling challenge” as it were. We need to replace our current refrigerator but we will need to raise additional funds in order to do so.

The cost for a new commercial refrigerator is between $3,000 to $6000.00 (which includes tax at 9.1% and removal/delivery of appliance).

Why the difference in cost?

$3,000 buys good lower end brand with 3-year warranty.

$6,000 buys higher end brand with 6-year warranty.

Any amount will help this cause. Please share what you are able to donate to allow us to continue to serve food safely to our church community and a provide a continued source of rental income.

Thank you to all those able to continue or begin yearly pledge donations!
