Here it is mid July and the skies are heavy with smoke. I hope you all are finding healthy ways to enjoy this hot summer.
Dean and Susan Tyler-Babkirk share that much to their delight they found an object belonging to Marion Moos, long time member of UUCS, but now passed, featured in the America at 250 exhibit at the MAC! Marion was a born activist as you can see by the picture.
Did notice that Justin Bell has returned to church after his surgery. Looking a bit thinner maybe but so good to have him back.
In May, long time church member, Allan Delaubenfels passed away. Allan requested there be no memorial service and gifts could be directed to Friends of the Centennial Trail, which was a source of tremendous joy and health for him for many years.
On June 2, Marmot Art Space owner and UUCS member, Marshall Peterson passed away. A celebration of life for Marshall will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026 at the Kendall Yards Nest Plaza.
I saw Judy and Dick Gammon recently and hope to see Judy in church soon as she has been recovering from hip surgery.
Barbara Rodriguez will be having cancer surgery on her mouth near the end of July and asks us to hold her in our caring thoughts. If you need any assistance Barb please reach out to us.
If you have heard of Emma’s Revolution, then this is an event you won’t want to miss. Songs of justice, equality and hope. Taking place this weekend, Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at St Stephens Episcopal Church, 5720 S. Perry (Take me to a map of the location). This event is a fundraiser, with all proceeds going to the Manzanita House, supporting immigrants and refugees. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Fun music while doing good things!
