September 2026

Long time UUCS member Jane Bowen will turn 100 on September 24, 2026. While talking with Judith, one of Jane’s daughters, we agreed it would be an extra special treat if congregants that know Jane would write a birthday card including a meaningful memory they shared with Jane over the years. Mail your cards to the following:

  • Jane Bowen c/o Betsy Bowen
  • 1394 Kicking Horse Lane
  • Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814-9146.

The cards will be shared with Jane at a small birthday gathering.

Bill Prouty

It is with a sad heart that I share that Bill Prouty passed away last week. Bill was in hospice care at Rockwood south. Vern, Bill’s wife, told me that they have been married 73 years! They met in high school and married while in college. Bill and Vern have been members of UUCS for many years. There will be a memorial service held Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at UUCS.

Democrats Booth at The Fair

As for me, I worked the Democrats booth for the first time last night at the county fair. It was uplifting to have young people, 17, 18 years old, willingly come up to the booth to have a conversation. These first time voters made me feel like we will be in good hands in the ‘blue’ future. Vote early!

Indian Summer

It looks as though we will get a bit of an Indian summer this week with temperatures approaching 80! Do take the time to enjoy this smoke free warm sunny weather. See you at the potluck Sunday.
