Crimes of Compassion: What to Do when Doing Good is Condemned

Jesus’s preached that we are all God’s children. Yet, over time, his message was coopted and corrupted to claim that he is God’s only son. This happens frequently in human societies, that which should obviously be considered good is turned into evil, and that that which is evil is called good. This is especially true of caring for and accepting “outsiders” and “strangers.” In this sermon we’ll explore this phenomenon in order to better understand our own moral obligation to do what is right, no matter what society requires.
