Unaffordable Housing & the Homeless: What Does the Data Say?

Drug addict. Mentally ill. Criminal. These are some of the stereotypes often associated with those who are homeless. While they may be true of some, they have never been true of all. One of the greatest causes of homelessness is poverty, yet when we see people on the streets, even those begging for money, poor is not usually the main stereotype that comes to mind. Nevertheless, due to skyrocketing costs, adequate housing is out of reach for a growing number of working Americans. In this sermon, we’ll look at the data to better understand all the causes of homelessness.
