Alyx Franz has been a resident of the West Central neighborhood for over a decade. In 2018, she left the food industry to enter the non-profit world. She worked the front desk at the West Central Community Center for four years, being one of a few bones in the skeleton staff that ran it through the pandemic shutdown. Ms. Franz is currently the volunteer manager and resource manager at Our Place where she does everything from mediations, tabling at outreach events, recruiting volunteers, hosting public events, running the bus pass program, navigating resources, and building relationship with other non-profits. Ms. Franz brings lived experience to the work, having herself been a client over the years.
