Speaker: Larry Luton

Larry Luton is Professor Emeritus of Public Administration at Eastern Washington University. As a professor, he presented and published multiple articles and papers related to climate change. From 2007 to 2009 he served on the City of Spokane’s first Sustainability Task Force. It created Spokane’s 2009 Sustainability Action Plan. Since retiring in 2014, he has done volunteer work related to climate change. He joined 350 Spokane in 2017, has served as co-chair, and is currently on its board. When the Spokane City Council created a Sustainability Action Subcommittee (SAS), he was among the first to join and has stayed to the end. The SAS created the 2021 Sustainability Action Plan. From 2022-2024 Larry served as the chair of the SAS Steering Committee. Earlier this month, he was appointed to the new City of Spokane Climate Resilience and Sustainability Board.
