Speaker: Margo Lee Hill
Margo Hill-Ferguson, JD, MURP, is a Spokane Tribal member and grew up on the Spokane Indian Reservation. Dr. Hill served as the Spokane Tribal attorney for over a decade and as a Coeur d’ Alene Tribal Court Judge. Ms. Hill earned her Juris doctorate from Gonzaga School of Law and her Master of Urban and Regional planning from Eastern Washington University. Dr. Hill is a professor of Urban planning and American Indian Law at Eastern Washington University. She is the director of the American Indian Studies program
Margo Hill was awarded the Trustees’ Medal which is the university’s highest form of recognition for faculty achievement. This year, she was selected as a Spokesman Review “Woman of the Year”. She is known for her community engagement, Environmental, and Murdered, Missing Indigenous Women advocacy, and educating the community on tribal history, Federal Indian Law, and Tribal Sovereignty.
In this guest presentation, Dr. Margo Hill, a Spokane tribal member, former Tribal Court Judge, and professor of Urban planning and American Indian Law at Eastern Washington University, will speak about her advocacy on behalf of Murdered, Missing Indigenous Women.
